System Tuning manual, yes
As such it's good though a bit general, basically an overview of the standard unix tools used for that task. The reviewer below is absolutely correct, it's not a performance-oriented book per se, it's more of a system tuning manual. Another slight flaw of this book is that it contains no index whatsoever, not a good (neither accepted) practice for any, much less, technical book. Still, for what it is it's OK overall.

It doesn't deal strictly with "performance" as in horsepower. This book is a good intro/overview of unix system administration. It probably should have been called "UNIX System Tuning";.
