very deep... great for hardcore java programmer
i found the exam very easy (although i still missed 3 of the 61 questions), i guess it's because i have read this whole book thoroughly. i buy this book together with kathy's book and have passed the exam with 95% score. kathy's book is very good too but just covers what you really need to pass the exam. this book goes a step further by explaining each concept thoroughly, more than you need to pass the exam. if you want to have deep knowledge of how java works, and not just merely to pass the exam, then this is the best book for you.
Super book for the SCJP eggjam!
I thought I knew most of it, but NOPE, I had missed here and there. I find this fascinating experience learning newer features in java with this book. There are so many little things which we think we know but we might not actually know how to apply that in practical. I would surely reccomend this to anyone taking the eggjam (exam :-) ) It covers all the beginner level java programming concept in detail. U will be gaining a lot by practicing the end of chapter excercise. Go for it and buy this book without blinking.
To be frank, I am so tensed now thinking of my exam. Time to go and hug my book now! Good luck to you too :-)
