Why is this out of print?
It is *the* indispensible guide to the core Java API. I keep this book at my side 24/7. It's getting dated, what with Java 2, but it's still really useful. If these guys would publish "Java 2 API for Dummies Quick Reference", it'd fly off the stands. Come on, IDG, give us what we need!.

Better than the Nutshell
It contains the same list of classes, properties, and methods, but gives more tips and examples. I bought Java in a Nutshell, first, but found this reference more helpful. It also has the "Lay-Flat" binding which should be required on all reference guides!!.

Spiral bound concise Java 1.1 Reference.
I use it daily. Very handy, and dependable.
