great help getting 14 year old up to speed
(I was familiar with Scott Kelby, being a Photoshop user. I gave my 14 year old daughter the new video iPod for her birthday, and got her this book too.) Kelby's casual style and superbly slick presentation quickly overcame her initial reluctance at having to read a book to learn how to work with her new iPod. I'm a professional programmer, but not an iPod user myself, so I found the book extremely handy when she needed help with something. An excellent book at a very modest price. If you're already familiar with Kelby's Photoshop books, you'll know just what to expect. If you aren't, you'll quickly see why he's become the top-selling author of technical books.
Thorough, entertaining, very useful iPod reference tool.
I took a copy of the first edition out from my local library and found a multitude of functions I was unaware of and many handy tips and shortcuts. This is a very thorough reference for any member of iPod nation. I thought to copy a couple of items for future reference and next thing I knew decided having the whole book was more practical than making copies of half the pages. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the book had been updated and was also glad to find it less expensive on Amazon than at my local bookstore.
If you use your iPod on any kind of regular basis, this is a book you will refer to regularly for problem-solving, shortcuts and helpful hints. You can go directly to problem solutions if necessary, or review sections for a complete understanding of all the things your iPod can do. I intend to use my iPod for years to come, I'll even replace it with another if necessary, and this book will be able to give me information and solutions to queries on an ongoing basis. .
Cool Book!!
Mr. This is a very cool little book. Kelby describes numerous things that can be done with your Ipod. In fact, there are more things possible than I can possibly ever use.
After reading this book, I finally learned a few of the many hidden features of the unit. This was certainly easier than trying to get through the entire owner's manual.
