UNIX Shell Programmer's Interactive Workbook

Shell
Format: Paperback
Author: Christopher Vickery
ReleaseDate: 22 December, 1998
Publisher: Prentice Hall PTR
Rating:

Not up to the mark
Does not cover the concepts in detail. Big font, much bigger than needed. The examples are boring.
It's very difficult to move to the next page. There are much better books out there.

It Could be Better
But it seems the author went out of his way to make this as dull as possible. The interactive workbook is a good idea. 90 % of the book is about functions with basically the same examples again and again. It's boring and dry. A week after I bought it I put it on my shelf and it's now collecting dust.

Clearly written, excellent hands-on learning tool!
So many computer books are VERY dry. The Interactive Workbook is a great idea. Hands-on is, of course, the best way to learn. This is a great learning tool. Also, it serves as a great reference for later use. I truly recommend it!.
