A good place to start but ONLY for beginers!
I bought this book to create a web site, and a week later I had a web site running. I am very computer literate, but knew nothing about HTML.
If you know HTML, or have already created a web ste before, then don't buy this book. If you have never done any HTML work, then the book is great. It really is a beginers guide, and at that it does a great job. As a reference forget it, and don't buy it if you want to fine tune or tone up your HTML skills.
One major gripe. The Chapter on Frames is just sooooo wrong, that I recommend you don't even read it. I originally built my first site with frames, and then had to dump it and start over.
A must have for the techno illiterate....
This is definitely a "for dummies" book. Want your own website but don't even know what HTML stands for? You need this book. It walks you through the painstaking process of building Thine Own Space in Cyber and makes it fun instead of frightening. Highly recommend!.
Redundant
They repeat the same things over and over ad nauseaum. I've bought a few dummies books through the years and the one common theme throughout them all is REDUNDANCY. Do your self a favor and pickup the basics (all you'll get from this book)at any number of online sites. Do a google search of Basic HTML and you'll get a lot of sites and will teach you more than this book and it's FREE! Please avoid this junk. Besides who do they think they're calling dummies? You're only a dummy if you buy there products. Just call me a reformed dummy.
